Breeding assessment
The estimation was organized in collaboration with the family Picard (breeding of Matalys) and the Dumas family (Stud farm of Four Winds). The demonstration is Unwound to Roumazières-Loubert (Dumas family), invited judges were Céline Brullard, Helga Podlech ( Germany) and Andrea-Katharina Rostock (Germany).
The day begins with a breakfast, certain persons coming from very far (approximately 500 km). After all satisfy hunger, presentation of 19 foals and young horses was able to begin !
The breeders present descendants of known stallions as Aladdin frá Gerdum, Atlas frá Feti, Geysir frá Sigtuni, Lysingur Matalys, and also German stallions such as Hakon vom Wiesenhof (Finalist in the world championship, 4 gaits and tölt, in 2005 and 2007) and Sjoli frá Dalbae (world champion of breeding in 2003, in the category stallions of 7 years and more). All these breeders above named had notes superior to 8 in breeding assessment, (national or International), which classify them as an"elite". This demonstrates the maids origins of the judged horses!
The foal Virkur of Four Winds (father: Lysingur des Matalys, Mother: Nina des Quatre winds) gains the category of the foals 2009.
Virkur amazed the judges by its presence, dynamic, fluid gaits and flexible. It obtains for its very good performance a final note of 8.08 (Ext: 8.0 Int: 8.1, gaits: 8.1). It is followed in 2nd place by Vidrir des Quatre Winds (father: Lysingur des Matalys, mother: Quinoa of Four winds) with a note of 7.93 (Ext: 8.0, Int: 8.1, gaits: 7.8), just below the note of 8 always desired as an "elite"! Vidrir distinguished itself by his envy to move and by its very flexible movements at a trot and at a gallop.
After the assessment of the foals, a midday break was necessary. The family Dumas had planned everything, apéritif, several entries, main course (even for The vegetarians !), cheese, dessert, wine and champagne to celebrate already results of their foals. A perfectly tied up organization, a single snag, The arriving bad weather in the beginning of afternoon. Practically 6 months without Rain in Centre-and southwest, and it had to begin raining a few hours too early!!! The organizers already had planned a big tent to be able to shelter the judges and the public.
Under a pouring rain and many wind thus begins the assessment. In the category of the horses of 1 the years, that's the young Una des Matalys (father: Lysingur des Matalys, mother: Qkvika des Matalys) which won obtain one Final note of 7.95 (Ext: 7.9, Int: 7.9, Speeds(Looks): 8.0). In 2nd place Ulfur of Four Winds (father: Atlas frá Feti, mother: Overa of Four Winds), Marked-down by a very good morphology, of good different gaits and obtains a note of 7.84 (Ext: 8.1, Int: 7.9, gaits: 7.7).
To the young horses of 2 years, the big and elegant mare 4 gaits Trana of the Matalys (father: Sjoli frá Dalbae, mother: Vaena) impressed Judges by an ample and supple trot with very pronounced movements and obtained the final note of 8.06 (Ext: 8.0, Int: 8.2, Speeds(Looks): 8.0). In some hundredth of Trana, with a note of 8.03 (Ext: 8.1, Int: 8.2, Speeds(Looks): 7.9), Tvista des Matalys (father: Lysingur des Matalys, mother: Osk Matalys) appropriates 2nd place. Tvista of the Matalys distinguished itself By its very good reactions, a very good bearing, many of tölt and Very fluid gaits.
On a ground become very slippery, the young promising stallion Sky des Matalys (father: Lysingur des Matalys, mother: Vaena) took away the category of 3 years, and obtains a final note of 7.93 (Ext: 7.9, Int: 8.0, Speeds(Looks): 7.9).
This jassessment was an enormous success. The public and the participants came in number, of various regions of France (Brittany, Country of the Loire, Aquitaine, Auvergne, Limousin, Poitou-Charentes). An article is even appeared the day after the assessment in Isibless, it is a German web site very looked which informs our border friends of the last news from Germany and Iceland.
The positive returns and the positive craze aroused by the persons present, gave to the organizers of this assessment the envy to organize more. The purpose is to present about fifty horses of France in 2010.
In collaboration between some breeding, the Stud farm of Four winds (family Dumas), Icelandic of the Albe (Lallouette family) and the breeding of Matalys (Picard family), breeding assessment of foals and young horses go be organized with besides short.
